Robert Harold Lawson, 70, of Wellington, died Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Anchor Lodge Health Care in Lorain. Born on April 16, 1947 in Ravenscroft TN, he was the son of Beulah (nee Brown) and the late Carl Lawson. Robert grew up in Dover and moved to Wellington in 1980. Robert worked as an electrician for most of his life, starting out with his step father in Cambridge MD. He later worked for both Harrison and Brothers automotive in Wellington. Robert attended the Wellington Nazarene church for many years. Keeping up with and watching sports was a favorite past time for Robert. He was outgoing and personable, and leaves many friends who will miss his fun loving and jokester personality. Robert also enjoyed spending time outdoors working on his flower bed and taking care of his yard. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 39 years Phyllis (nee Wallace) Lawson; children Robert "JR" (Amanda)Lawson, Jr., of Wellington, and Cindy (Tony) Hazelett, of Elyria; grandchildren Dylan, Trey, Payton, Emma, and Makayla; His mother Beulah Tyler; siblings Rick (Sue), Randy (Jeri), and Gary (Cathy) Lawson, Gail (Smoky) Smith, Debbie (Robert) Kinnamon, and Lisa Daniels. Friends and family will be received on Monday, August 21, from 6-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main, Wellington, where services will be held on Tuesday beginning at 11 a.m. Pastor James Hill will officiate and burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
