Robert William Leiby, 88, of Wellington died Saturday, December 23, 2017. Born on January 3, 1929 in Spencer, he was the son of the late Fane and Ruth (nee Ridgeway) Leiby. Robert lived most of his life in the Spencer and Wellington areas. Robert worked for Cleveland Steele and was a hired hand for farmers Edis Lyons, Harold Ringler and Bud Purdy. He later went on to retire from LaGrange Screw Products in 1993. He enjoyed farming and raising an assortment of animals. He also liked to spend time outside fishing, hunting, and camping. Survivors include his daughters Betty Leiby and Susan Sprinkle, both of Wellington; grandchildren Bruce (Tricia), Carol, Jason (Charisse), and Matthew (Jenny); great grandchildren Brittany, Jake, Chase, Jenna, Xavier, Jason Jr, Ryan, Jaeda, Jaden, Alyssa, Myah, and Kylie; great great grandchildren Kaiden, Easton, Hope, Kaleb, and Paislee; brothers Walter and Linden Leiby; and special nephew Richard Leiby. Robert was preceded in death by his wife Juanita; son David Leiby; and his siblings Raymond, Gerald, Shirley, and Carol. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2017 at the Amvets Post 162, 26971 State Route 58, Wellington, from 1-4 pm. A private graveside service will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
