Robert A. Marksbury, of Norwalk, passed away on July 27, 2025, at Admirals Pointe, in Huron. He was born on March 1, 1937, to the late Hubert "Rex" and Bernice (Nesselhauf) Marksbury in Sandusky, Ohio.
A lifelong resident of the area, Bob graduated from Sandusky High School and went on to proudly serve his country as a Military Police officer in the United States Army, stationed in Germany. A skilled mason by trade, he worked with several unions before founding his own company, CJ Masonry. Bob was a proud member of AMVETS Post #17 and the Norwalk Eagles #711. He found great joy in boating on Lake Erie with his beloved wife of 36 years, Cathy, creating countless cherished memories together on the waters. They also shared a love of travel, with favorite destinations including Cancun and Florida.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Catherine (Beck) Marksbury; his children, Victoria (Joe Baumer) Marksbury, Andrea (David) Weisenberger, Timothy (Christina) Marksbury, Mathew (Jennifer) Marksbury; and step-sons, Philip (Kate) Smith, Adam Smith; his siblings, Sharon Decker, Ginger (Bob) Szmik; and sister-in-law, Susan Beck; and 16 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in passing by his parents; his stepfathers, Clarence Davidson, and Alfred Wiley; his brother, Lee Marksbury; his son, Robert N. Marksbury; daughter-in- law, Annemarie Marksbury; and great-granddaughter, Samantha Sangster.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, from 11:00 a.m. until the start of the memorial service beginning at 12:00 p.m. (Noon).
