Robert John Mohler, 94, of Pittsfield, died Saturday October 18, 2025, at Welcome Nursing Home. Born on July 23, 1931, he was the son of the late John and Mary Irene (nee Seeley) Mohler. Robert, known by most as Bob, grew up in Grafton and graduated from Grafton High School.

Bob was drafted into the Navy in 1955 and served on the USS Hollister. After his discharge from the Navy, he took a job with Oberlin College and moved to the Pittsfield area. Bob retired from Oberlin College in 1994 after 37 years. While working for the college he also worked on his wife's family's farm and in 1964 they built a home there. Bob loved working on the farm raising dairy cows and Black Angus. He was a longtime 4-H advisor and judge at the Lorain County Fair and enjoyed connecting with the youth in the community. Bob was a member of the Pittsfield Community Church as well. Apart from raising cattle, he also grew apples and was a beekeeper. When not on the farm, Bob enjoyed taking fishing trips to Maine, Canada, and Alaska. He was a firm believer in a 5 am breakfast. Most of all Bob cherished time with his family.

Survivors include his children, Bill (Nikki) Mohler, of Pittsfield, and Barb (Rick) Tallan, of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Chris (Amanda), Cassie (Matt), Joe, and Alex; great grandchildren, Erin, Will, Courage, and Sage; and a brother, Charles Mohler, of AZ. Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Louise (nee Brandt) Mohler; son Michael Allen Mohler; and siblings, Alice Springsteen, Mildred Joppeck, and Raymond Mohler.

Friends and Family will be received on Thursday, October 23, from 10 a.m. until the time of services beginning at 12 noon at the Pittsfield Community Church, 17026 State Rt 58, Wellington. Burial will follow at Pittsfield East Cemetery. The family suggests, if desired, donations in Bob's memory be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
