Robert Charles Rish, Sr., 75, of Huntington Twp., died Friday, April 29, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 26, 1936 in Fremont, Robert was the son of the late Charles F. and Bernadine (nee Beck) Rish. Robert attended Elyria High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army.
For 42 years, Robert worked for Conrail. He was a member of the United Church of Huntington. Robert loved to travel and always looked forward to big road trips with his family in the summertime. He also enjoyed bowling and cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Glenna; children, Robert Rish, Jr., of Florida, Mary Morrison, of New Jersey, Jerry (Joey) Rish, of Elyria, Phala (Troy) Chatwin, of Mt. Gilead and Rochelle (Eddie) Davis, of Delaware, Ohio; 4 grandchildren, Connor Davis, Sarah Davis, Lucas Davis and Jordan Chatwin. Robert is also survived by a brother, Gary (Patti) Rish, of Indiana.
A time of visitation with the Rish family will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2011 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service at the United Church of Huntington, 26677 State Route 58, with Rev. Stephen Carmany officiating. Friends and family are also invited to a luncheon following the service to continue their remembrances.
