Robert 'Bob' J. Roeder, age 64, of Greenwich, died Sunday, January 27, 2008 at Fisher Titus Medical Center, Norwalk after a long illness. He was born October 1, 1943, in New London, son of the late Norbert & Mary (Pheifer) Roeder. Bob was a lifelong resident of the New London area. He was a 1962 graduate of New London High School. He attended the Molar Barber College in Cleveland and cut hair in Lorain and New London for many years. Bob had also worked as a Correctional Officer at the Mansfield Correctional Institute. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, New London. He loved the outdoors, fishing, enjoyed planting and landscaping around his home, feeding and watching the birds and wildlife.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Lucal) Roeder, whom he would have celebrated their 32 wedding anniversary on February 14, 2008; 6 Children, Steve (Laura) Roeder of New London, Eric (Angie) Roeder of Kansas City, Missouri, Anne Roeder of Scottsdale, Arizona, Jeff (Carol) Puder of New London, Bryan (Sheryl) Puder of Wakeman, Andrea Young of Nova; 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; 6 sisters, Martha Ackerman, Shirley Thomas, Becky (Bob) Gainok all of New London, Joyce Dillinger, Marilyn (Mike) Marshall all of Sandusky, Mary Jo Roeder of Upper Sandusky; 5 brothers, Tom (Nancy) Roeder of Vermilion, Jerry (Linda) Roeder of North Carolina, John Roeder, Randy Roeder, Mark (Linda) Roeder all of New London; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his children, Eric Puder, Karen and Christopher Roeder both in infancy, his sister, Bernadette Roeder and his infant brother, Joseph Roeder.
Friends may call from 6 ' 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 29 and from 2 ' 4 p.m. and 6 ' 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 30 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 31. Burial will follow at Clarskfield Methodist Cemetery.
