Portsmouth, Ohio - Robert Edward Sanders, 71, of Portsmouth, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2016, in Southern Ohio Medical Center Hospice, with his family by his side. He worked for many years as a tow truck driver for Hamilton Towing in Portsmouth, Ohio. Robert enjoyed fishing, drag racing, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda (Brant) Sanders, of Norwalk, Ohio, by his children, James (Christine) Sanders, of New Boston, Ohio, Robert Sanders Jr., of Portsmouth, Ohio, Douglas (Kelly) Sanders, of New Boston, Ohio, Brad (Cassidy) Sanders, of Portsmouth, Ohio, Jason (Tiffany) Sanders, of Firebrick, Kentucky, and Jeremy (Ashley) Sanders, of Franklin Furnace, Ohio. Robert is also survived by his sisters, Joyce Fallet, Carol Emerik, Sandy Ward, Diane Skyver, and Linda Hayes, by his brother, David Sanders, by 16 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, James and Beulah (Benner) Sanders, by his brothers, Gene Sanders, and James Sanders and by his sister, Katherine Jenson. Friends may call Saturday, March 19, 2016, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio 44857.
