Robert A. 'Bob' Skillicorn, 60, of New London, died Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at MedCentral Health System in Mansfield after a short illness. He was born August 15, 1950 in Mansfield, son of the late Robert W. and Sarah A. (Davies) Skillicorn. He was a life long resident of the Fitchville and New London areas. Bob graduated from New London High School in 1968 and worked for the former Ohio Body of New London, Sheller Globe of Norwalk and Garber Printing of Ashland. He ended his career as a Deputy Sheriff with the Huron County Sheriff's Office. He served as an EMT with Firelands Ambulance Service for 9 years, and was also a volunteer fireman for the Village of New London. He enjoyed scuba diving, was a former member of the Masonic Lodge, and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Carol (Rowland) Skillicorn; children, Brianna McNeely of New London, Brittany Skillicorn and Brooke Skillicorn both of Sandusky; 2 grandchildren and siblings, Gladys Holeton of Norwalk and Lloy Skillicorn of Jackson, TN and an aunt, Margaret 'Nene' Davies. Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Megan Sarah Skillicorn in 1978 and a brother, Sammy Skillicorn in 1953. Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, June 4 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London where funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Grove Street Cemetery, New London.
