Greenwich, Ohio - Robert Stephens, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and decorated veteran, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on June 27, 2023. He was 56 years old.
Born on March 25, 1967, in the small town of Willard, Ohio, Robert was the cherished son of James and Cynthia Mae Stephens. He grew up alongside his siblings, Sarah (Rich) Juhlke, Richard (Wanda) Stephens, and Vicky Stephens. They shared countless memories together.
Robert's family meant the world to him. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Janice Stephens, who stood by his side through thick and thin. Their love was an inspiration to all who knew them. Together, they raised three children, James (Amber) Stephens, Jennifer (Donn) Timko, and Tyler (Shelby) Hicks. Robert found immeasurable joy in being a loving father, guiding and supporting his children throughout their lives.
His role as a grandfather brought him immense happiness. Robert adored his four grandchildren, Carter, Colton, Donnovan, and Roslyn. He cherished the time spent with them, creating special memories that will be treasured forever.
Robert was a proud and decorated veteran, having served his country with honor and courage. His dedication and selflessness were evident in every aspect of his life. Additionally, he was an active member of the FFA in his younger years, where he found fulfillment in fostering a love for agriculture and empowering the next generation of farmers.
Outside of his service and community involvement, Robert had a passion for collecting Hot Wheels, with a particular affinity for Mustangs. He took pride in his vast collection, cherishing each model as a testament to his enthusiasm for the automotive world.
Robert shared a special bond with his animal companions, Millie and Arianna, who provided him with comfort and unwavering companionship. Their presence brought him solace and served as a reminder of the unconditional love that exists in the world.
In his passing, Robert joins his maternal and paternal grandparents, his father, James Stephens, and nephews Richard Jr. and Joshua. Their memories will forever be held dear by those who loved him.
Robert Stephens touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and unwavering strength. He had a gentle soul and a kind heart, always willing to lend a helping hand and offer support to those in need. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us to live each day with love and compassion.
Friends and family are encouraged to pay their respects and celebrate Robert's remarkable life. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2023, from 1-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m., at the Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main Street. Greenwich, Ohio. His funeral service will be held on Monday, July 3, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery with Military honors.
