Robert 'Bob' Harrison Waite, age 91, of Wellington died Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at the Elms Retirement Village following a long illness. He was born February 6, 1917 in Wellington to the late Archie and Ella Myrtle (nee Jordan) Waite. As a child, Bob moved to Pittsfield and lived there for many years. He was a 1934 graduate of Wellington High School. Bob started work in 1936 at General Industries and worked there through World War II. He then owned Spencer Mold and Die before working at TruFit Products in Medina. Bob was a member of the Wellington Eagles # 2051. Bowling and golf were hobbies Bob enjoyed. He also like playing cards and gardening. Survivors include his wife of 67 years Melba Waite; his sons, Gareld (Marie) Waite of Wellington and Russell Waite of Phoenix, AZ; 2 grandchildren, Cathy and Doug; and one great grandson, William. Bob is also survived by his sister, Dorothy Wright of Wellington. Friends will be received on Friday, February 8th from 4 pm until time of closing service at 7:30 pm at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington with Pastor Kenneth Gerhardt officiating. A family burial will take place Monday at the Pittsfield South Cemetery.
