Robin E. “Bob” Crites, age 78, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026, at Gaymont Care and Rehabilitation. He was born on December 27, 1947, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Donald and Doris (Schoewe) Crites. Bob graduated from Monroeville High School and received a Master’s Degree from Bowling Green State University, where he met the love of his life Pamela (Brooks) Crites.

Bob and Pam met at BGSU and together, established a faith-centered lifetime of love. The two were married on April 17, 1970, sharing over 56 years together. In addition to his wife, Pam, Bob is also survived by their daughter, Victoria (Brian) Bement of Pickerington, OH; grandchildren, Isabelle (Jonathan) Duranleau, and Macie Bement; and siblings, Barb (Larry) Gillaspie, Kathy Grote, and Donald (Wendy) Crites.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Crites in 2004.

Described by his bride as “the best husband in the world”, Bob was a good dad, and wonderful husband, who loved God. His contributions to the community were immense and impactful as a Music Educator for nearly 30 years, (a legacy which has been passed down throughout his family). He is probably most renowned for his role as the Band Director for Western Reserve High School, where he not only taught his students about music and band, but often inspired them to be better people. Band trips to Washington D.C. and playing on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, Bob taught music, but he also played and was a talented musician himself. He had performed in Big Bands and played for Buddy Rich.

Although he was a BGSU Falcon at heart, in later years, Bob was actually invited to play with the Erie County OSU Alumni Band. Bob’s passion for music inspired kids to also love music and often endeared him to many in the community. His contributions leave behind many fond memories of a good musician and greater man.

Along with Pam, Bob was a faithful member of Collins Church. He was an integral active part of the church where he served as a Lay Leader.

Friends and family are invited to Bob’s visitation on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the Collins Church, 4290 Hartland Center Rd., Collins, OH 44826, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service which will begin at 11 a.m. with Rev.
