Rodney Joseph Hale, 56, of Plymouth, died Thursday, January 24, 2013 at his home. He was born December 24, 1956, in Willard, son of Mary (Whitcher) and the late Joe Hale. He was raised in Greenwich and a permanent resident of Plymouth. Rod attended South Central High School. He worked for Holthouse Farms for 28 years and then continued to work for Buurma Farms until October 2012. Rod loved to play cards, gardening and spend time with family. Rod was just a fun loving person. He is survived by his wife, Sandy (Dye) Hale, whom he married on September 6, 1986; two sons, Alan (Shanna) Hale of Greenwich and Christopher (Heather) Hale of Ontario; two daughters, Trisha (Tod) Hale of Plymouth and Kim Hale of Plymouth; mother, Mary (Whitcher) Hale; brothers and sisters, Diana (Tom) Oney of Plymouth, Rita (Bernie) Gayheart of Shiloh, Matthew Hale of Greenwich, Melvin (Theresa) Hale of Greenwich and Paula Hale of Greenwich; 7 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Rod was preceded in death by his father, Joe Hale; brothers, Robert and Alan Hale and sister, Rosemary Hale. A visitation will be held from 3 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2013 until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Tiro Northern United Baptist Church, 5205 State Route 39, Tiro, Ohio. If desired, memorials may be given to the family.
