Roger W. Brown, age 83, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Highbanks Care Center in Columbus, after years of suffering from Parkinsons. He was born on March 2, 1943, in Sussex, New Jersey, to the late Gordon and Margaret (Smith) Brown. Roger moved to Detroit for grade school, and graduated from Norwalk High School in 1961, where he met the love of his life, Linda (Harmon) Brown. The high school sweethearts were married for 60 years.

After high school, Roger served his country as part of the United States Air Force. He and Linda moved to Milan, Ohio, where they spent 15 years, then Norwalk, Ohio, for the next 10 years, and Toledo until his retirement after working as a maintenance electrician in several factories. After retirement, Roger and Linda moved to Columbus to be near their daughter, and to spend time with their grandchildren, actively supporting them in all of their athletic and academic pursuits.

He also enjoyed camping, fishing, reading, and collecting and repairing old radios.

Roger was a member of the Norwalk Eagles 711, VFW Post 2743, and Norwalk American Legion Post 41.

Survivors include his loving wife of over 60 years, Linda (Harmon) Brown; their children, Belinda (Scott) Allen of Westerville, OH, and Bradley Brown, of Milwaukee, WI; grandchildren, Jonathan (Vanessa Young) Allen, Joshua (Madeline) Allen, Jacob Allen, Jennifer Allen, Nathan Brown, and Micah Brown; brother, Robert (Mimi) Brown of Dunedin, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Brown and Ronald Brown, and granddaughter, Julie Ann Allen.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, OH 44857, beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow the service in Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk, with military honors being held.
