"Chub" Osborn
January 10, 1957 – July 29, 2024
Roger D. "Chub" Osborn, 67, of North Fairfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. Chub was born on January 10, 1957, in Norwalk, Ohio, to Shirley (Reep) Osborn and the late Roger J. Osborn. He graduated from South Central High School, where he later enjoyed following his children's pursuits.
An avid outdoorsman and hunter, Chub was tremendously giving family man, who cherished any time spent with his grandchildren. He also spent many hours cheering for Cleveland professional sports teams, especially the Browns.
Chub instilled many values and life lessons within his children, and one of those was from his example of hard work. He spent the last 20 plus years at Oglesbey Construction and before that he worked for Boxboard Packaging.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Marcia (Garner) Osborn; their children, Ryan (Kelly Clouse) Osborn, Brandon (Stephanie) Osborn, and Zac (Brooke) Osborn; grandchildren, Madalyn, Wesley, Claire, Carlie, Kate, Avery, Josie, and Wyatt; mother, Shirley (Reep) Osborn; in-laws, Randy (Jan) Garner; siblings, Gary Osborn, Sherri (Dave) McFarlin, Sharla (Chris Howard) Osborn; great grandchildren, Zakiah, Zaiden, Nova, Everly, and Rowan.
In addition to his father, Roger J. Osborn, Chub was also preceded in death by his mother in-law, Virginia Garner.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial visitation for Chub at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, on Thursday, August 1, 2024, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. A memorial funeral service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024, also at the funeral home, beginning at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Glioblastoma Research Organization, 447 Broadway, 2nd Floor #41, New York, NY 10013.
