Eastman Funeral Home 419.752.2603 Roger D. Pittenger, 47, went home to be with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 6, 2015. Roger was born in Martin, Kentucky, on July 27, 1968 and lived most of his life in the North Fairfield area. He graduated from South Central High School in 1988. Roger last worked at Wilbert Plastics before his 2 ½ year battle with cancer. He previously worked for Guardian Manufacturing and Ace Hardware. Roger was a long time member and deacon of the Greenwich Baptist Church. He was a hard worker, had a kind heart for children and loved spending time with family. Roger enjoyed car shows and liked showing his 1967 Camaro. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 16 years, Rachel; children, Christian and Joel; mother, Betty Eckels-Gibson and siblings, Michael (Marlene) Pittenger, Carl (Teresa) Pittenger, Vallie Eugene Pittenger, Fred Gibson and Deborah (Andrew) Lacy. Roger was preceded in death by his father, Vallie Pittenger; brother, Frankie Gibson and his grandparents. The Pittenger family will greet friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Greenwich Baptist Church, 96 Townsend Street, where a service will be held with Pastor Gary Adkins officiating Thursday, December 10th at 11 am. Burial will follow in Edwards Grove Cemetery, Greenwich.
