Roger Charles Rutherford, 54, of LaGrange, died Sunday, October 17, 2010 at his home. Roger was born in Clinchport, VA on November 22, 1955 to Charles and Joyce (Stanley) Rutherford. He lived most of his entire life in Wellington and was a 1974 Wellington High School graduate. Roger worked for the Ford Motor Company in Avon Lake as a pipe fitter, retiring last year after 34 years. He was a member of the UAW, as well as the Wellington VFW and the Eagles #2051, and the Moose Lodge in Elyria. Roger enjoyed playing pool and was a member of a league for several years. He also enjoyed bicycle riding with his wife, cooking and spending time with his grandson. Roger was eagerly anticipating a motorcycle trip he had planned with his brother, Dennis, on his new Harley. Roger is survived by his wife of 34 years, Vickie (nee Pigon) Rutherford, his son, Brandon (Sandra) Rutherford of Elyria, and daughter, Kelly Rutherford of Toledo. Roger is also survived by his parents, Charles and Joyce Rutherford of Wellington; his siblings, Dale (Donna) Rutherford of Church Hill, TN, Sandy (Don) Plaskett of Norwalk, Lisa (Dennis) Norton of Olympia, WA and Dennis (Michelle) Rutherford of Wellington. Roger was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Steve Rutherford, and his mother and father-in-law, Albert and Irene Pigon. Friends will be received from 1-3 p.m. and from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday October 20, 2010, at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main, Wellington, with a few words shared by friends and family beginning at 7:40 p.m.
