Roma Lee Perkins, 83, of Wellington, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at her home. She was born on March 7, 1929 in Lakeville to the late Ray and Clara (nee Broome) Moore. Roma graduated with the Wellington High School Class of 1947 and then attended Elyria Cosmetology School.
For many years Roma owned a beauty shop. She also worked for East of Chicago. A member of the United Methodist Church of Wellington, Roma belonged to the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed bingo, playing cards and gardening. Her other hobby was traveling with her husband.
Survivors include her children, Pamela Ann Wilbanks, of Mississippi, Janis Lee Perkins and Dennis H. (Barbara) Perkins, both of Wellington; 9 grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and her sister, Jean Stevens, of Brunswick. Roma was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Perkins; twin sister, Ruth Hales and sister, Lois O'Haire and a granddaughter, Tami Perkins.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, June 22 from 6-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington and from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Saturday with Rev. Lea Mahan and Layton Broome officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
