Ronald "Ronnie" E. Poole, 78, of New London, passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 1, 2022, at Samaritan Hospital in Ashland.

Ronnie was born on April 21, 1943, in New London to the late Eunice (Dejarnette) and Alvin Poole.

Ronnie was a 1961 graduate of New London High School and proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. He was a dedicated employee at Tenneco for 32 years. Ronnie was a trustee and lifelong member of the Second Baptist Church, member of the American Legion, and a member of the VFW; all in New London. In his spare time, Ronnie enjoyed playing poker and card games of all kinds, training and caring for the horses of Glenn and Nelly Maynard and driving cars. Ronnie loved his money and was well known for his little black book, where he kept a record of anyone who owed him money. His greatest joy of all was his family, especially enjoying food and fellowship with them.

Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Lois Poole; daughter, Connie (Jay) Evans of New London; son, Jeffery Evans III of Crestline; 4 grandchildren, special granddaughter, Makiyla, Myriah, Jamil, and Alijah; baby sister, Janice Rembert of Holt, Michigan; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives.

In addition to his parents, Ronnie is preceded in death by two sisters, Geraldine Grantham and Connie Hawkins, and brother, Rodney Poole.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 11 am until the time of funeral service at 1 pm at Second Baptist Church, 41 N. Maple Street, New London, OH 44851. The burial will follow at Grove Street Cemetery.
