Obituary

Ronald D. 'Pete' Turner, 67, of Wellington, lost his courageous 10 year fight with cancer July 4th at home surrounded by his loving family. Born July 23, 1941 in Chaffee, MO, Ronald was the son of the late Herschel 'Pete' and Geraldine(Chapman) Turner. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, flea markets, woodworking, feeding and watching birds. In his younger days in MO he shined shoes. He enjoyed people and he never met a stranger. Ronald was a member of The Dad's Unit of the VFW, Wellington Post 6941, Wellington Eagles 251, and a member of the Operating Engineers Local 18. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Linda (Moon-Brown)Turner and protective companion Sheba Lee; his sisters, Shirley Warrens of Elyria and Irma (Robert) Wertz of Mt. Gilead; brother, Kenneth (Vicki) of Wellington; sons, Mike (Debbie) of Elyria, Jonathon and Scott of Mt. Gilead, and Jon Brown of Wellington; daughters, Kathryn (William) Greaser of Elk Garden, WV, Laura (Ted) Gray of Wellington, Lisa Bungard of Elyria, Lynette (Phil) Wallen and Lisabeth (Johnny) Hobbs both of Wakeman; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and many other family members who loved him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Robert Turner; 2 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and a very special daughter-in-law, Lisa (Caudill) Brown. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 18th, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at the Wellington VFW Hall, 207 N. Main St., Wellington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Well-Help, 127 Park Place, Wellington, OH 44090. A private burial will take place at a later date.
