Rose K. Farner, 100, of Wellington, died Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Born on November 28, 1921 in Berlin Heights, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Frances (nee Corrado) Pine. Rose graduated from Berlin Heights High School and moved to Wellington shortly thereafter.
Rose was a switchboard operator for many years. She later worked for the Wellington Hospital as a receptionist. She also was a pharmacy technician, seamstress, and worked at the Pizza House in Wellington. A member of the Penfield Quilters and the Naomi Circle, Rose loved quilting. She enjoyed taking trips with local senior groups, spending time with her family or talking on the phone with them for hours. Rose will be remembered for the delicious baked goods she would make and the beautiful quilts she made.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews, including Wanda (Bob) Woodrome and Godchildren Annette (Bill) Mohler and Dina Horwedel. Rose was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years Richard Farner; siblings Frank Pine, Madeline Garris, Joe Pine, Mary Blankenship, and Dominic Pine.
Friends and family will be received on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and again on Monday from 1 p.m. until the time of services beginning at 2 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St, Wellington. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
