Rosemarie Sheffield (nee Sanders), age 69, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2017.
She spent her life working in the medical field in which she truly excelled and greatly enjoyed. Her last job was at Kendall at Oberlin, where she was adored by the residents. She was married to Tom Sheffield in 1967 and they spent nearly 50 years happily married, raising children together, building a house in Pittsfield, keeping a garden and living very modestly, never desiring material possessions. They always enjoyed the simple pleasures. She was a devout Catholic her entire life. She taught a second grade religion class at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Wellington, where she had been a parishioner since 1979. She was a victim of a serious auto accident in 2007 which left her a quadriplegic and served to deepen her faith. Tom took care of her at home for ten years. Rosemarie also spent many years helping her invalid mother-in-law. She will be greatly missed by all who were touched by her.
She was preceded in death by her father Duane Sanders in January, 1999. She is survived by her caring husband Tom; mother Dorothy Sanders; children Jill Ellison, of Lorain, Matt (Victoria) Sheffield, of Houston, TX, Chris (Amy) Sheffield, Wimberley TX, and Jeremy Sheffield of Austin TX; grandchildren Jessica and Jacob Ellison, of Lorain, Miranda and Jaret Sheffield, of Luling TX, Grace, Anna Kate, and Drew Rentz, of Houston TX, and Joe Henry and Garner, of Wimberley, TX; Sisters Suzanne (Roger) Overstreet, of Grafton, Lisa Walker and Janis (Phil) Bailey, both of Oberlin, as well as brother Dennis (Zoe) of Elyria.
