Rosie J. Jackson, 90, of New London, passed from this life on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, while at Metro Health Medical Center, Cleveland. Born to Myrtie Ellen (nee Case) Meade and Robert Meade in Kentucky on April 29, 1932, Rosie came to New London in her teens.
Rosie was an incredibly talented artist, painter, floral arranger, and craft enthusiast. An amazing artist who could paint anything, Rosie was well known for her artwork. While she enjoyed doing many types of arts and crafts, the one thing Rosie hated was sewing. She was energetic, strong willed, assertive, and vocal, but was also kind and generous.
She is survived by her husband, Darrell Jackson; children, Dan (Gail) Ux, Linda (Doug) Case, and Tracy (Jere Young) Stumpf; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; siblings; Almas (Mo) Shepherd, Ransom Meade and Linro (Sharon) Meade and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Rosie was preceded in death by her first husband, William Ux and second husband, George Parks; siblings; Tworea Ratliff, Junie Harvey, Muriel Perkins, Siltana Yates, Zora Meade, Lemuel Meade, Woodrow Meade, T.J. Meade, Estella Schenk, and Ethel Hamilton.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London, where her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 11, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Fitchville Cemetery.
