It is with deep love and profound sadness that the family of Roxie Alice (Wallen- Collins) Nichols announce that on February 16, 2026, she passed away peacefully at home being lovingly taken care of, and surrounded by, all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren at the age of 92, leaving behind a lifetime of love and steady devotion to her family. Roxie was born on March 3, 1933, to Ernest and Eliza Wallen of Floyd County, Kentucky. Her brothers Robert and Joe Wallen also preceded her in death.
She was blessed to experience two loving marriages in her lifetime. Her first marriage in 1950 to Daniel Collins was one of deep and lasting love that produced the family she would become the cherished head of. After Dan’s passing, she found companionship again, proving that the heart has an enduring capacity to love. She married Eugene Nichols in 1993 and they remained together until his passing.
She was the proud mother of, and is survived by, three daughters; Joy (Jeffrey) Brown, Linda (Scott) Trager, and Terry (Tony) Kristy; the cherished grandmother of seven grandchildren, Amanda Bennett, Dillon (Heather) Collins, Zach (Amanda) Collins, Kendra Bohland, Jeff (Amy) Brown, Lori Bohland, and Tony Kristy; and the adored great-grandmother of five great-grandchildren, Daniel, Emerson, Hannah, Charlotte, and Cameron.
She dedicated many years of her working life to Forest City Technologies, where she worked faithfully until her retirement.
Her family was her greatest joy and her life’s truest purpose.(But mostly, her grandchildren… until her great-grandchildren)
She had a gentle, loving spirit and a quiet strength that made everyone feel safe in her presence. Her legacy is not found in grand accomplishments, but in the lives she nurtured, the traditions she created, and the love she gave so freely. She will live on in every holiday gathering, every warm kitchen, every batch of cookies made with love, and every bowl of soup beans and cornbread shared among family. She was the heart of her home, the keeper of traditions, and the quiet center of her family’s world. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
Friends and family may call on Saturday February 21st from 12- 2 pm at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London Ohio, Funeral Services will commence at 2:00 pm following visitation, also at Eastman Funeral Home; with burial to follow at Rochester Cemetery.
