Roy Fredrick Sonewald, 82, of New London, died Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Hospice of North Central Ohio in Ashland. He was born in Bethany, West Virginia on April 8, 1928 to the late George and Nellie (Ernest) Sonewald. He worked at the Wellington Foundry and farmed. Roy was a member of the Brighton Congregational Church. Roy is survived by his wife Norma (Gillette); children, James (Sandy) Sonewald of New London, Gary (Patty) Sonewald of New London, Brenda (Donald) Kitts of New London and Judi (Terry) Kitts of Ashland; grandchildren, Lindsey Sonewald of New London, Shaun Sonewald of New London, Alex Kitts of Ashland, Josh Kitts of Ashland, Adam Kitts of New London, Dominic Kitts of New London and Casey Kitts of New London. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Alice (Robert) VanBoxel of Williamsfield. Roy was preceded in death by his son, Paul Sonewald and siblings, Boyd Sonewald, George Sonewald, Jr., Elwood (Claire) Sonewald, Harold Sonewald and Helen Sonewald. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 5, 2010 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London.
