On December 2, 2010, Ruby P. Basnett left this earth to meet her Saviour. She was born October 20, 1931 in Worthington, West Virginia to the late James F. and Edna M. (Dean) Ashcraft.
She was retired from RLCWA. She loved gardening, quilting and crafts. She cherished going on vacations to Ocean Isle, North Carolina with her family.
Survivors include her two daughters, Cheryl (Bryan) Rose of Homerville and Terry Basnett of Ashland; two sons, Randy (Paula) Basnett of Glenmont, Ohio and Richard (Jennifer) Basnett of Dover, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Aaron Rose, Jarod Rose, Jacob Basnett, Olivia Basnett, Joel Basnett, Emilee Basnett, Eryn Basnett, Aimee Basnett and Andrew Basnett and a great granddaughter, Hayden Basnett. She is also survived by her brother, James E. Ashcraft of Mannington, West Virginia and two sisters, Mildred Raper of Clinton, Ohio and Janice Thorne of Mannington, West Virginia. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Jack H. Basnett; son, Dennis H. Basnett; sisters, Celestine Dalton, Betty Burnett, Louise Lafferty and Esther Basnett and a brother, Thomas Ashcraft.
Friends and family may call from 5 to 7 pm on Sunday December 5 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington where a funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday with her sons Randy and Richard officiating. Burial will follow at Huntington Cemetery.
