Rudyard Lee Baker, age 85, of Norwalk, died Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk. He was born on December 29, 1927, in Greenwich, the son of the late Ralph and Della (Shepherd) Baker. Mr. Baker graduated in 1945 from Greenwich High School. In 1948, Rudyard married Patricia Leech and together they were blessed with 4 children. He lived in the New London and Greenwich areas until moving to Arizona in 1987 and has resided in the Norwalk area for the past 6 years. He worked as a farmer in Ohio and then he worked for Rainbird Corporation in Arizona as a tool maker. Survivors include his wife, Patricia; children, Jane (Larry) Cucco of New London, Jeffry (Sharon) Baker of Grafton, Ruth (Leon) Bilderback of Gahanna, Ohio and Steven (Maryann) Baker of Chicago; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Rudyard was preceded in death by his siblings, Marcella Keiffer, Marlene Baker and Donald Baker. A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m. on Monday, January 7th at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London with Rev. Ben Black officiating.
