Obituary

Ruth Louise Harris, age 86, of New London, died Sunday, June 22, 2008 at Fisher Titus Medical Center, Norwalk after a short illness. She was born November 17, 1921 in Wellington, Ohio, daughter of the late Earl B. & Lulu (Hall) Jameyson. Ruth had lived in Clarksfield until 1985 then moved to rural New London. She was the Valedictorian of the graduating class of 1939 at Wellington High School. She had worked at C.E. Ward and Thomas Creative Apparel both of New London. Ruth was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Wellington, a member of the United Methodist Women, a member of the Wellington McDonald's Coffee Club, a member of the Farm Bureau. She enjoyed playing cards, sewing, gardening, and dancing. She had only missed one Lorain County Fair in 85 years. Ruth was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. She is survived by 3 sons, Richard (Mary) Harris, Robert (Mary Lou) Harris all of New London, Jim (Sue) Harris of Monroe, Michigan; her daughter, Rita (Jim) Czerniakowski of Toledo; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Lyle (Marion) Jameyson, Howard (Dorothy) Jameyson, Donald Jameyson all of Wellington; her sister, Maxine (Bill) Simonson of Wellington. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Russell Harris in 1998, her grandson, Aaron R. Harris in 1986, her brother, Russell Jameyson, her sister in law, Marilyn Jameyson. Friends may call from 2 ' 4 p.m. and 6 ' 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at Norton ' Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St., Wellington. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 26 at the First United Methodist Church of Wellington, 127 Park Place., with Rev. Lea Mahan officiating. Private burial will take place at a later date at the Clarksfield Methodist Cemetery. Memorials if desired may be given to the Herrick Memorial Library, 101 Willard Memorial Square, Wellington, Ohio 44090, the Wellington Alumni Association, 201 South Main St., Wellington or to the First United Methodist Church of Wellington.
