Ruth Carol Yost, 87, of Wellington, died Sunday, January 10, 2016 at University Hospital Elyria Medical Center. A daughter of the late Myrl and Helen (nee Denham) Heath, Ruth was born on November 25, 1928 in Elyria. She grew up in Penfield and was a graduate of Penfield High School. She later moved to Litchfield then to Clarksfield and Collins before moving to Wellington. Ruth worked in food service at Fisher Titus Hospital for many years. She was very active in her children's lives, volunteering with their schools and becoming involved with the Juvenile Grange. Ruth will be remembered as a very giving person. She enjoyed volunteering her time visiting nursing homes and was awarded a 25 year volunteer award from the Elms Retirement Village for her service. Ruth most loved to spend time with her family and all children. Survivors include her children Kenneth Yost, of Litchfield, Edward Yost, of Athens, James Yost, of Hartville, Michael Yost, of Honduras , Cyndi Shepley, of Reno and William Yost, of Stow; sister, Lora Sheffield, of Pittsfield and brother, John Heath, of Sullivan. She also is survived by 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. A private burial will take place at Penfield Cemetery.
