In Loving Memory of Samuel "Sammy" Swiger

November 27, 1964 – July 20, 2025

"Some will walk through the gates of Heaven, others will ride."

"The Chosen Few"

Samuel "Sammy" Swiger, age 60, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at the Claremare (Twin Lakes) Campground in Wellington. Born November 27, 1964, in Willard, Ohio, he was the son of Carl "David" Swiger and the late Honora Ruth Wade (Bennett).

Sam lived a life defined by passion, loyalty, and connection. A devoted motorcycle enthusiast and proud former member of the Avengers Motorcycle Club, he found freedom on the open road and kinship among fellow riders. His vibrant spirit, magnetic presence, and unwavering devotion to those he loved earned him the respect and admiration of many.

More than anything, Sam cherished relationships, whether through laughter around a campfire, stories shared over a meal, or quiet moments with family. From goulash to gumbo, he knew how to season and cook with heart.

One of Sam's favorite sayings was "The Chosen Few"—a phrase that reflected his loyalty, strength, and deep connection to those closest to him.

Sam is survived by his children: Brittany Swiger, Samuel B. Swiger, Seth Swiger, Weston Swiger, and Grayson Swiger; his father, Carl "David" Swiger; and his siblings: Yolanda (Keith) Samples, April Bloom, Bryan (Paulette) Swiger, and Dawn Swiger.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Honora, with whom he remained by her side until her final days, as well as all his grandparents.

To coordinate contributions, please contact his sister Yolanda at (440) 225-9553. Or daughter Brittany at (412) 596-0903.

Sammy's legacy of laughter, loyalty, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Let us honor his life by celebrating the way he would have wanted, with good stories, good food, music, and good company.
