Sandra Jean Gibson, 83, residing in Port Clinton, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 1, 2023, at Promedica Ebeid Hospice of Sylvania.

Sandra was born on September 21, 1939, in Norwalk, to the late Catherine (Grimmer) Barnes and Ernest Barnes. She graduated from St. Paul High School as a member of the 1957 graduating class. Sandra was a loving homemaker for her family and was especially dedicated to the care of her son, Allen, who has special needs. She was a secretary for Missler-Gibson Contracting Corporation. Sandra had a servant's heart and volunteered for Fisher-Titus, Christie Lane Industries, and the Ann Grady Center. She was a member of the Elks, VFW, and American Legion. Sandra enjoyed shopping but never paid full price for anything. She was also a skilled crafter who made wedding flowers and thoroughly enjoyed decorating her home, especially for the holidays. Sandra was a longtime resident of Norwalk before spending her retirement years in Port Clinton and Ft. Myers Beach, Florida.

Sandra is survived by her two children, Tamara Gibson of Port Clinton, and Allen Gibson of Holland, and brother, Dale (Deb) Barnes of Monroeville.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frederick "Fred" Gibson, who passed in 2022, and a brother, James Barnes.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 7, 2023, from 10 am until the time of funeral service at 12 pm at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857. The burial will follow at Hester Cemetery.
