Sandra Jean Popejoy, 65, formerly of Wellington, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2019 in South Carolina.  On July 6, 1954, Sandy was born in Amherst to George and Vivian Joppeck. She was a 1974 graduate of Wellington High School and attended Baptist Bible College in Missouri.  Her family made homes in Missouri, Texas and South Carolina throughout her lifetime.

Sandy worked as a Nurses' Aide for many years.  She was faithfully active in churches in her community. Sandy enjoyed reading, crocheting, swimming, taking walks in nature and picking up pecans. Above all, she loved being a mother to her two boys - caring for her family was her dream come true.

She is survived by her husband. Doug, of 28 years; sons, John and Dan Popejoy, both of South Carolina; mother, Vivian Joppeck; siblings, George W. Joppeck, Jr., Sue Crites, Debbie Yoder, John Joppeck, Dwayne Joppeck, Barbara Gray, Sharon Hill, and Donna Zsigray. Sandy was preceded in death by her father, George W. Joppeck, Sr.
