Obituary

Sandra (nee Hanlin) Spencer, 66, went to heaven after a long battle with breast cancer. Born on June 3, 1945, in Bucyrus and lived in Clarksfield for forty-one years. She graduated from Elyria High School in 1964. In her early years Sandra was an artist and enjoyed making needle sculptured dolls. She most recently was an avid quilt maker. Sandra was an active member of Clarksfield United Methodist Church. Her greatest joy was being a homemaker and grandma. She is survived by her husband, William 'Bill'; daughter, Joanne (Daniel) Willinger of Wakeman; son, Eric (Cherry) Spencer of Wakeman; grandson, BJ Herold; granddaughter, Sarah Willinger; mother, Bonnie Hanlin of Oberlin; sisters, Judie (Wm.) Brennan of Canonsburg, PA and Nancy (Mark) Ballas of Triangle, VA; brothers, Ron (Sue) Hanlin of South Amherst and David Hanlin of Elyria; sister-in-laws, Lynette (Ken) Hissong of Ashland and Mary Spencer of Releigh, NC; brother-in-law, Wayne (Nancy) Spencer of Loudonville; 11 nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Hanlin and his wife, Marilyn Hanlin and in-laws, Edgar and Arlene Spencer. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London and Monday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at Clarksfield United Methodist Church, 5151 Zenobia Road, Wakeman with Pastor Patty Jo Sheldon officiating. Burial will follow at Clarksfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clarksfield United Methodist Chruch or Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
