Shawn Fredrick Stanley was born in Oberlin, Ohio on October 6, 1970. He attended schools K through 12 at Wellington having graduated in 1989. He was a graduate of Baldwin Wallace College having earned a degree in Economics. He also attended LCCC and the University of Toledo.

Shawn loved football and was a proud Center for the Dukes. He was awarded 1988 Lorain County Conference Lineman of the Year.

After college Shawn ran his own contractor business and worked for the Murner Law Firm as a paralegal.

In more healthy years he enjoyed kayaking, mountain biking and camping.

Shawn died Thursday, June 22, 2023 after an eleven year battle with heart disease.

Shawn will be greatly missed by his parents, Fred and Diane Stanley of Wellington; siblings, Renee Wilson (Don) of Port Orange, Florida, Kathy Passarell (Todd) of Avon Lake, Ohio; four nieces, Dresden, Madeline, Alana and Avery; and many friends; special friend, Martha and little buddy, Dean.

Shawn was preceded in death by an infant brother; grandmother, Margaret Lynch; grandparents, Malcom and Virgie Stanley.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Monday, June 26, with services to be Tuesday, June 27, at 11:00 a.m. and a luncheon to follow at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 140 South Main Street, Wellington, Ohio.
