Shirley Archer, 72, of Medina, died Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Hospice of Medina
County at the Inn, after battling a two year illness. She was born on June 11, 1938 in
Lodi, daughter of the late Merritt Jay and Lucy Shannon. Shirley lived in Nova and
Savannah for many years and moved to Medina in 2009.
She worked at Kent Sporting Goods for over 40 years and then worked several years at
Thomas Creative Apparel in New London. Shirley attended Medina Assembly of God.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Clyde and Sherry Fultz of Medina;
grandchildren, Heather (Mark) Dress of Medina and Holly (Craig) Powell of Medina;
great-grandchildren, Kyle, Jordan, Kayla, Dylan, Kinsey and Kassidy; step children, June
Archer of Mansfield, Dan Archer of Ashland and Ed Archer of Washington D.C.; sisters,
Vivian Scheid of Norwalk, Nancy Welch of Greenwich and Bonnie Green of New London. Shirley was preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde Fultz, Sr.;
son, Mike Fultz; second husband, Lee Archer and brother, Richard Shannon.
Visitation will be held at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London on
Sunday, March 20th from 3-5 p.m. and Monday from 1 p.m. until the time of funeral
service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Ronald Dress officiating. Burial will follow at Sullivan
Southview Cemetery.
