Shirley C. (Bud) Baker, 75, of Brighton OH and Bradenton, FL., passed away from a sudden illness while in Florida. Bud graduated in 1952 from Brighton High School. He participated in sports and played the trumpet in the band. Bud received The Babe Ruth Foundation Sportsmanship Award. Bud was drafted in 1953 and spent6 two years in the United States Army.
Bud was married to Alberta F. Baker (McClellan), also of Brighton, for 43 years. They raised four children; Dean C., Mary K., Martha J., and David C., all of Wellington. Bud is also survived by five grandchildren; Chad and Clay Broud, David M. and Dylan Baker, and Deanna Baker, all of Wellington. Bud is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Lois Mary Baker (Fisher); and sister Doree Smith (Baker), and Brothers Charles and Archibald (Archie) Baker.
Besides farming, Bud was employed as a welder for many years at Threw Shovel in Lorain, Ohio. Bud enjoyed looking for arrowheads and interacting with his grandchildren. A private family service will be held.
