Shirley J. Dennison

On Monday, February 16, 2026, Shirley J. Dennison, 84, passed away peacefully at home in Norwalk, Ohio, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on June 7, 1941, to Walter and Ruth (Stover) Steele, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, moving to Norwalk in 1958.

Shirley was a homemaker for many years and loved spending time with her family and friends. Always ready with a smile, she found joy in being a part of a community and helping others wherever she could. She was an avid collector of lighthouses, curating more than could be counted for display in her home.

Shirley is survived by her partner, Billy Gordon; her children, Steve Dennison, Ron (Gina) Dennison, Helen (Jerry) Mullner, Patricia Dennison, Michael (Laura) Gordon, and Shana Hernandez; her grandchildren, Josh, Alicia, Charlene (Chris), Tanya (Jason), Stephen, Helen, Josh (Sarah), Shayna (Jacob), Rachel, Caleb, Skylar, Aubree, Ivy, Hunter, Brooklynn, Michael Jr., Danny Jr., Damian, Danna, and Dayana; and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 42 years, James E. Dennison, Sr., her son, James E. Dennison, Jr., and her daughter-in-law, Tammy (nee McGuire) Dennison.

Shirley’s life will be celebrated at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main St., Norwalk, OH on Thursday, February 26, 2026. Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. with inurnment to follow at Meadowgreen Cemetery.
