Norwalk, Ohio - Shirley A. Wilcox, 82, went to be with the Lord, on Thursday, October 25, 2018, in Twilight Gardens Home, Norwalk, Ohio. She was born on March 23, 1936 to the late William Henry and Norma Margaret Ommert, in Sandusky, Ohio, and was a lifelong area resident of Norwalk. She was a previous employee of Friendly Corners, where she waitressed, and was the previous owner of Shirley's Star Diner, both in Norwalk, Ohio. Shirley enjoyed collecting, camping, playing cards, and most of all, spending time with her family. She is survived her long-time companion, Lyndon Lutts, by her children, Ronald L. (Kim Wiggerly) Wilcox, of Sandusky, Ohio, Donald J. (Rhonda) Wilcox, of Bellevue, Ohio, and Sandra (Bruce) Grose, of Norwalk, Ohio, by 6 grandchildren, Matt (Jessica) Wilcox, Kyle Grose, Bryan Wilcox, Amy (Tony) Williams, Kevin Wilcox, and Shelby Wilcox (Tyler George), and by 7 great grandchildren. Shirley is also survived by her brothers, Larry Ommert, of Sandusky, Ohio, Robert (Beverly) Ommert, of Bellevue, Ohio, by her sister in law, Carol Ommert, of Norwalk, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Walter L. Wilcox in 2002, by her sister, Nancy Hills, by her brother, William Ommert, and by her sisters in law, Suzanne Ommert, and Janice Ommert. Friends may call on Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Monday, October 29, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. in Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W.
