Starjenna Grace Hayes, 15, of Kansas City MO, passed away September 12, 2024 at home. Born on December 11, 2008 in Lorain, OH she was the daughter of the late Jennifer Dawn Hayes.

Star enjoyed the simple things in life such as spending time with her family and friends, cuddling with her newest niece, watching and making TikToks with her friends and sisters and loved to draw. She was also known for her love of Sprite, Hot Cheetos, the color Lavender, getting her nails done and loved all animals; especially cats. Star spent most of her life in the Wellington and Amherst area and had attended Keystone and Amherst Schools. As the youngest of nine children, most of the memories shared about Star came from this part of her short, but bright life. She recently moved to Kansas City where she enjoyed spending time with family she had not seen in a while and making new friends. Family was important to Star. Star wanted to graduate high school, attend college, and become a mental health counselor. Her wish was to help others in their mental health journey.

Survivors include her siblings, Michael (Alexandria) Cyrus, Nathaniel Cyrus, Bryan Cyrus, Savannah Draudt (Sean), Hayley Garza, Austin Hayes, and Kaydance Hayes; grandmother, Debbie Tomco; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Jennifer, brothers, Devin and Timothy, and grandfather John Garza. The family asks that in lieu of flowers contributions be made the Go Fund Me account to offset the cost of the service for the family.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, September 20 from 12 pm until the 2 pm Funeral Service at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington. Burial will follow at New Russia Township Cemetery.  Expressions of sympathy can be given online at www.norton-eastmanfuneralhome.com.
