IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stephen "Jerry"
Jerome Sikora
January 27, 1938 – July 6, 2022
Stephen Jerome "Jerry" Sikora, 84, of Wellington, died Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. Born on January 27, 1938 in Bath, OH, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna Mae (nee Gronski) Sikora. Jerry grew up in Clarksfield, attended Brighton High School and graduated from Wellington High School in 1956.
For 39 years Jerry worked from the Ford Motor Company as an assembly line repairman, retiring in 1996. After his retirement he drove for Harrison Ford, shuttling new cars. He enjoyed working on cars and was the family car repairman, and also enjoyed riding motorcycles. A longtime member of the Wellington Freewill Baptist Church, Jerry had a servant's heart, giving his time as a grounds keeper and his talents singing. He had a deep love for baseball, playing shortstop as a youth, even contemplating trying out for the major league. Jerry continued this passion as he coached with his son. For many years he worked on the grounds crew at the old Municipal Stadium for both the Browns and the Indians. Most important to Jerry were his family, and his unconditional love for them. As a father, husband, and grandfather he was willing to sacrifice for those he loved.
Survivors include his children, Debbie (Tony) Cillo, of Avon Lake, David Sikora, Laurie Gayheart, Judy (Charles) Brenner, and Terri Sikora, all of Wellington; grandchildren, Brett (Ashley), Jeffrey, Gregory (Mandy), Wendell (Andrea), Travis (Angie), Steven (Lindsey), Alex (Brenna), Cody (Ashley), Gabe, Bailey (Jacob), Courtney (Zak), and Autumn; great-grandchildren, Joni Mae, Juniper Rose, Kerrigan, Macklin, Isabella, Ozlyn, Ellie, Alice, Jesse, Cayla, Tyler, Wyatt, Kenley, Andi, Brendon, Avery, Addison, Hailie, Lacie, Trinity, Harmony, Jacob Laurence, Annie, Ellie, and Roger; siblings, Rose Sines, and Phil (Cheryl) Sikora; and sister-in-law, Jane Sikora.
