Steven Gerald Cox, 61, of Wellington, died unexpectedly on August 25, 2025, at Mercy Allen Hospital. He was born on March 17, 1964, to Gerald and Marianne (Nee Pilot) Cox.   Steven lived most of his life in the Penfield area and graduated from Keystone in 1982.   A self-employed man, Steven owned a hauling business. He took great pride in his grandchildren and enjoyed lawn work, tinkering with cars, and caring for his cats.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years Tracy Johnson Cox; daughters, Bree (Frederick Jr.) Oldenberg, of Elyria and Melissa (Kenneth Easterday) Cox, of LaGrange; grandchildren: Madisyn, Jayden, Tyler, Brantley, Hunter, Weston, Waylon, and Avery; his mother, Marianne Cox; and brothers: Gregory Cox and David Cox, both of Wellington.  He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Cox; brother, Keith Cox; and uncle, Kenneth Pilot.
