Susan Virginia Fetchik, 88, of Wellington, died Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Elyria Memorial Hospital. The only daughter of the late John and Suzanne Yurek, Susan was born in Cleveland on July 30, 1922. Susan spent her days taking care of her family. She loved playing cards, especially Canasta and Solitaire, and enjoyed working in her yard. In her younger years, Susan liked crocheting and making latch hook rugs. A member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Wellington, Susan also belonged to the Wellington Senior Club and greatly enjoyed going to their luncheons. She is survived by her beloved husband of almost 68 years, Andrew; son, Philip (Sandra) Fetchik of Australia; daughter, Susan (Joseph) Forgacs of Wellington; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Fetchik; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Susan is also survived by a brother and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Fetchik, Jr. Friends and family will be received from 5 ' 8 p.m. on Monday, September 6 at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 512 N. Main St., Wellington, where friends may also call Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial with Father James Reymann officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington. In lieu of flowers, the Fetchik family suggests donations in memory of Susan be directed to the American Cancer Society, 10501 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44106.
