Sylvia Cruz, age 68, of Norwalk, died on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 24, 1955, in Texas, and was raised in Norwalk.

A member of the VFW and Eagles, both of Norwalk, Sylvia was always the life of the party and loved dancing with her friends. Sylvia cared deeply for the people closest to her, and her family meant everything to her. She was a doting mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be remembered by all for the love and joy she brought to their lives.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Ruby (Ramon) Negrete, of Norwalk, and Benilda J. Sepeda of Norwalk; eight grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; five siblings, Frances Franco, Leonel (Laurel) Garza, Benilde (Scott) King, Ana Maria Garza, and Jesus (Eusebia) Garza; along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Maria (Benavidez) Garza; and three siblings, Ernest Garza, Graviel Garza, and San Juanita Miller.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Monday, July 22, 2024, at the Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, OH 44857 with Father Peter Grodi officiating.
