Obituary

Thelma Mae Heifner, age 92, of Wauseon, Ohio, died Friday, November 9, 2012 at Fulton Manor, Wauseon. She was born July 25, 1920 in Richmond, Indiana, daughter of the late Ephriam and Ethel Clara (Turner) Matthews. Thelma had lived most of her life in Shiloh, several years in North Fairfield and most recently in Delta, Ohio. She had worked as an LPN for the Shelby and New London Hospitals, and retired from Gaymont Nursing Center, Norwalk. She enjoyed riding motorcycles and traveling. She is survived by her children, Eva (Gene) Palmer of Willard, Ruth Vanderpool of Clayton, NC., Mary (James) Johnson of Delta, Ohio, Warren Heifner, Jr. of Shiloh, Martin Heifner of Grove Hill, Ohio; many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren; brother, Frank Matthews of Mansfield; sons in law, Larry Burson and Alger Risner both of Greenwich She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Heifner, daughters, Helen Risner, Hazel Burson and Evelyn Jewel, infant son, David Dick; 4 sisters and 4 brothers. Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main St., Greenwich where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Georgette Gaston officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Shiloh. Memorials may be given to Fulton County Special Olympics, 1210 North Ottokee St. , Wauseon, Ohio 43567.
