Obituary

Thelma L. Schlarb, age 83, of Greenwich, died Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus after a short illness. She was born December 3, 1924 in Sullivan, Ohio, daughter of the late Ray N. and Awilda Belle (Vanasdale) Bungard. Thelma was a 1942 graduate of Sullivan High School. She had lived in Greenwich since 1955. Thelma drove bus for Christie Lane School and Workshop for over 20 years where she retired in the early 1990's. She was a member of the Shiloh Grange. Thelma enjoyed playing Euchre. She is survived by her children, Gary (Evelyn) Schlarb of Arcadia, Ohio, Sherry (Mingo) Velez of Leipsic, Ohio, Timothy (Ginger) Schlarb of Lakeland, Florida and Billy Schlarb of Greenwich; 6 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; her brother, E. Homer (Virginia) Bungard of Norwalk; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her former husband, George 'Bill' Schlarb, her sister, Treva Kirkpatrick, her bothers, Clyde and William Bungard, and her loving companion, Robert Gundrum. Friends may call from 2 ' 4 p.m. and 6 ' 8 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2008 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main St., Greenwich where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Diana Seaman officiating. Burial will follow at Edwards Grove Cemetery. Memorials if desired may be given to the American Cancer Society, Ohio Division, Inc., North Region, 10501 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44106 or to Riverside Methodist Hospital, Ohio Health Foundation, 180 East Broad St., 31st Floor, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
