Thelma Elizabeth Thomas, age 88, formerly of Clarksfield, died Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Gaymont Nursing Center, Norwalk. She was born August 11, 1919 in Wakeman, daughter of the late Leo B. and Merty (Bowerize) Keith. Mrs. Thomas had been a lifelong resident of the Wakeman and Clarksfield areas. She had lived in Venus, Florida for 22 years after she retired in 1976. Thelma worked with her husband on their farm. She also had worked for several years at C.E. Ward Co. and at Kent Sporting Goods both of New London. She loved to sew, bake and spend time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by 2 daughters, Gloria Erbacher of Cleveland, Donna Yassanye of Atlanta, Georgia; 2 sons, William D. Thomas of New London and Dennis L. Thomas of Norwalk;10 grandchilden, 17 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Thomas in 2003, 2 brothers, Rolland and Burton Keith. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London were in charge of arrangements.
