Theodore Anthony Bubsey, 89, of Sullivan, died Sunday, February 9, 2025 at Akron General Hospital. Born on March 18, 1935 in Cleveland, he was the son of the late Bernard and Helen (nee Wisniewski) Bubsey. Theodore spent most of his life in Cleveland until moving to Sullivan 6 years ago.

A mechanic, Theodore retired from Metro Toyota after 48 years. Following retirement, he bought and managed a gas station in Cleveland for a short time. Theodore began racing in 1955 at the Lorain County Speedway - of all the cars he raced, his favorite was his Hudson Hornet.

Survivors include his children, Dora Orefice, of Garrettsville, Dawn Bubsey, of Columbus, Theodore (Amanda) Bubsey, Jr., of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Shawn (Katy) Bubsey, of Sullivan; grandchildren, Linda, Barbara, Larry, Kitana, Mhalia, Michael, Mick, Sky, Brandon, Billie Jean, and Serenity; 5 great-grandchildren; and a sister Leona. Theodore was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia and a son-in-law, Roy Orefice.
