Obituary

Theodore L. (Thee) Timbs, age 95, of Wakeman, died Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at Fisher Titus Medical Center, Norwalk. He was born April 10, 1912 in Wakeman, Ohio, son of the late George and Bertha (Crawford) Timbs. He was a lifelong resident of Wakeman. Mr. Timbs worked construction as a heavy equipment operator for about 45 years. He was a member of the Wakeman Congregational Church, a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, a former member of the Wakeman Grange. He was a Wakeman volunteer fireman for 51 years, having served as Fire Chief for 35 years. He was also a member of the Wakeman schools Athletic Booster Club, a member of the Western Reserve Ruritan Club, and a former member of the Wakeman Kiwanis. He was very community and civic minded. He is survived by his daughter, Beverly (Leroy) Stober of Wakeman; 2 sons, Neale (Marlene) Timbs and Gale (Lynda) Timbs all of Wakeman; 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; a brother, Charles Timbs of Wakeman; a sister, Thelma Coonrod of Norwalk. He was preceded in death by his wife, Selina Timbs in 2004, an infant grandson, Mark Ralph Timbs and 3 brothers, William, Edwin and Harold Timbs. Friends may call from 5 - 9 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2007 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London. Friends may also call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 30 at the Wakeman Congregational Church, 14 E. Abbott St., Wakeman with Rev. Edgar Shelly officiating. Burial will follow at the Wakeman Cemetery. Memorials if desired may be given to the church.
