Eastman Funeral Home 419-929-3781 Thomas J. McClanahan, 79, of New London, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, June 3, 2017. He was born September 25, 1937 in Owsley, Kentucky, son of the late William F. and Goldie (nee Adkins) McClanahan. He has lived in New London since the early 1960's. Thomas served in the U.S. Army from 1961 - 1963. He retired from Cleveland Gear in Cleveland, Ohio in 1998. Thomas was a member of the New London Church of Christ. He loved spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and playing poker. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Alice (nee Ford) McClanahan; his children, Sandra (Anthony) Hoffman, David (Rachel) McClanahan and Richard (Jamey) McClanahan; his grandchildren, Melinda, Marisa, Mista, Michelle, Michael, Anne, Samantha, Jesse, Maryjane, Natalie and Chase; his brother, William (Dot) McClanahan and his sister, Marie Clapp. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Arlin, James, Joe, Ellie, Myrtle and Judy. The family will greet family and friends beginning at 4:00 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 5:00 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2017 at the New London Church of Christ, 130 Third St., with Evangelist Charles Mead officiating.
