Thomas J. Pavish, 75, of Sullivan passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at Mercy Allen Hospital in Oberlin. Born on February 21, 1950 in Cleveland, Tom grew up there and graduated from West Tech High School in 1968.
He worked as a welder for Ford Motor Company, retiring after 30 years. He then continued his craft at General Motors. Tom was a member of AA and CA for over 30 years, proudly maintaining his sobriety during that time and helping others to achieve theirs.
He could often be found on his boat in Lake Erie. Tom loved fishing and riding his motorcycle. A true Ohio sports fan, Tom rooted for the Buckeyes, Browns and Indians. He also enjoyed playing cards and visiting the Indianapolis raceways. Tom had a gift for storytelling and his great tales will live on. A true animal lover, Tom was devoted to his many pets.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Annie (nee Carpenter) Pavish; loving siblings, Jennifer Gates, Susan Milia, Don (Helen) Sotak, Nancy Kramer, Janet (Jim) Groh; numerous nieces and nephews; uncle, Tom Chaney; aunt, Shirley Chronister; his dogs JoJo, Donna Lou, and Smokey; and many friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Maude Chaney; father, Joeseph Pavish and; mother, Donna Lou (Chaney) Sotak; stepfather, Donald Sotak; brother-in-law, Nino Milia and many loving aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 8 from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington. Condolences and fond memories can be shared at www.norton-eastmanfuneralhome.com.
