Thomas "Tom" Stratton Funk, of New London, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at his home surrounded by family. He was 62.
Tom was born in New London and was a lifelong New London resident. He was co-owner of a local construction company, C & F Construction, for over twenty-five years. Tom and his wife Becky enjoyed working on their property. He especially liked coming up with ways to keep the animals out of his vegetable garden. Tom was a member of the Sons of the American Legion.
He will be missed by all that have gotten to know him over the years. He had a special ability to make friends with everyone in a room.
Tom is survived by his wife of 42 years, Becky (Newman) Funk; sons, Bryan (Susan) Funk and Adam (Traci) Funk; granddaughters, Clara Funk, Allison Funk and Evelyn Funk; siblings, Sally Staschke, Nancy (Frank) Metzler and Steve (Joan) Funk and many friends, neighbors, and co-workers.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nona Robbins Funk; father, Gene Funk; brother, Gene "Sonny" Funk and sister, Ann Robbins.
Tom's family will greet friends Friday, March 31, 2017 from 1-5 pm at Eastman Funeral Home in New London. A gathering will be held in his honor following the visitation on Friday at the New London Eagles where he was a member for a long time. A private graveside service will be held at Grove Street Cemetery in New London.
